Top 5 Liposuction Recovery Tips for first time clients

1. Schedule out your Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage Massages When your body undergoes any type of surgery such as C-sections, Liposuction, Lipo360, Tummy Tucks, gallbladder removal, or appendicitis, etc. your body will in fact need Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Massages to help with proper recovery.

After Surgery, it's very normal to experience hard, stiff, knotted areas. And in some cases, clients can develop Fibrosis (the formation of fibrous tissues) which MLD Massages can help the healing process by removing toxins and excess fluid from your body.

It is very important to follow your providers protocol, and schedule your post-op massages at least 2-4 times a week with a Certified Lymphedema Therapist to maintain best results. Luxe Snatched Body & Spa offers high-quality, gentle post-op Lymphatic Drainage Massages in the Houston area.

2. Stop Drinking Alcohol and avoid High Sodium Foods

It is very, very normal to want to resume back to your normal eating habits after your surgery. Drinking alcohol and eating high salty foods could potentially hurt your results. Drinks such as Gatorade is also harmful as it contains sodium encouraging water retention.

As someone who has personally had Lipo360 surgery and decided to drink alcohol within 2 weeks PO, I can assure you will feel much worse as the swelling lingers for a very long time and could potentially be harmful to your results. You probably paid a pretty penny for your surgery, the best thing to do is save your investment by staying away from alcohol and salt.

3. Wear your Faja Garment and Compress, compress, compress!

Wearing your Faja can be a nightmare, but think of this as another form of protecting your investment for your results. Adding extra compression inside your faja such as Abdominal boards and foam boards will help tighten your skin and help your body heal post-surgery. These boards are available even on Amazon.com. (Search Ab-boards/foam boards for lipo 360).

When about 3 weeks pass, you will then switch over to a Stage 2 Faja, which is tighter compression than your stage 1 Faja. It is really important for you to switch to a Stage 2 faja rather than just sizing down your stage 1 faja. Remember, the stage 2 faja is going to help continue shape and contour your body so make sure if you received a Fat Transfer (BBL) you have some stretch alongside the buttocks area. Formatucuerpo.com is a really great company to purchase personalized fajas. This is important so that way you have tighter compression on the waist area and stretchy material for your Buttocks area.

4. Walking (Get in the habit of this prior to your surgery as well!)

The first week will probably be tough, but walking is going to be one of the first forms of exercises you will be able to do after your Lipo360 surgery. It is advisable that you rest for the first 24 hours, and then slowly start to incorporate your normal daily activities. The type of walking we would recommend would be one of walking in a mall, or around the neighborhood, but not at an extreme pace. Walking helps increase blood circulation and the flow of lymph fluid inside your body. If you are experiencing fatigue, nausea, or dizziness while walking post-surgery please inform your doctor right away.

5. Be patient, Trust the Process of your results!!! Love yourself. Know that you are not alone.

Lipo360 is a life-changing procedure and some might even say it's a hard recovery process, and for others it's very easy. It all depends on your after-care, your body, and your mentality.

After my surgery, I was constantly looking in the mirror wondering why my body had wrinkly loose skin, severe bruising, unevenness, and why I was forming fluid pockets, etc. The list went on and on in my head... and I found myself nit-picking my body and results. I constantly kept wondering if I made the right decision or not. It caused me to get the "surgery blues" and if you are experiencing this... you are NOT alone. And this feeling will soon pass. Keep in mind, my doctor continued to tell me I was in the early stages (within my first month) and my body was still healing. And my doctor was completely right!!!

Within my first month post-op, I was extremely swollen, I had to wear loose fitted clothing. (Personally, we would recommend getting used to wearing loose fitted clothing within your first month). As soon as my 3rd month hit, I felt most of the swelling was gone and I felt very normal.

We also recommend taking pictures and videos prior to your surgery, during your healing process, and after you're completely healed so you can see your personal progress. Remember, your body will be healing on its own too. Take a deep breathe, reflect on the trauma your body had endured, and understand with the help of Lymphatic Drainage Massages, wearing your faja correctly, maintaining a healthy diet, and trusting the overall process will help you tremendously and leave you in the right mindset.
